Outdoor Sights
Benton Community Park 600 S. DuQuoin, in Benton	439-4041
This Benton park is a most delightful & attractive local site. Open spring through fall each year. The tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields and shelters offer a wide variety of family activities. Summer ball leagues , with games played May through July are a great evening's entertainment. Also the perfect spot for group picnics or family outings with plenty of shade and playground equipment. For those who enjoy beautiful landscaping, and especially beautiful flower gardens, a drive through this park from Spring through Autumn is a true botanist's delight!
Twin Oaks Lodge Lake Hamilton, Benton	439-6131
Located north of Benton (watch for signs that say Lake Benton) this recreational area includes Twin Oaks Lodge, a great spot for party, as well as beautiful shady camp sites. You can also try your luck at some lazy day fishing at Lake Hamilton or enjoy the nearby picnicking areas. Lake Benton & Lake Hamilton are two of the older area lakes, with mature shade trees and shrubs.

A Beautifully maintained nine-hole course located just East of Benton. Open March through November 15th. Driving Range - Pro Shop - Lunch with Full Bar Service as well as Weekend Evening Dining-Home of numerous tourneys including the Gold Cup. Open to the public...

Memorial Sites
The Franklin County Civil War Memorial	439-0608
The Franklin County Civil War Memorial is located on the east side of the Historic Jail Museum. Also at this location is a memorial to General John A. Logan.
Benton Municipal Building	439-6131
In front of the Benton Municipal Building, on West Main street, is the site of a Veterans and Coal Miners Memorial, in honor and memory of local citizens.
